I snipe a lot on this map (but I don’t camp just so you know) and I enjoy it quite a bit. If you’re not sniping on this map, you’re doing it wrong (I’m paraphrasing JackFrags). Instead they just camp at the back of the map which sucks. The people I play with never seem to use the destroyers or dreadnoughts properly. The naval warfare is really fun and the infantry play is pretty decent too, there are a lot of chokepoints and trenches for them to fight in. Naval warfare at its best! Too bad my computer lags due to the excessive amount of vehicles. However, it looks amazing and it’s the redeeming factor of Apocalypse. There’s too much objective hopping meaning you barely come across the enemy. There is a lot of concentrated fighting at the D objective and not much fighting anywhere else. Passchendaele is the quintessential No Man’s Land map and it’s what I think of when I think World War 1. I always have very fun and intense games on Zeebrugge. I like the submarine pens and the destroyed bridge as objectives and the gameplay tends to be balanced and suited to Assault class. This map is one of the only ones where Conquest Assault works.

Combine this with Back to Basics (a mode where everyone has a bolt action rifle) and Frontlines and you have a World War 1 simulator. This captures the true Western Front feeling. Nothing like a good old night time trench raid! This is the trench warfare map everybody had been clamouring for and we were not disappointed. Such a great trench map! The darkness adds a lot to the gameplay like Prise De Tahue. The map design is also one of the best in the game with the trenches, the bridge, the river flowing through the map and the iconic poppy fields. The five flags are set up with one easy flag for each team and three in the middle. It is really balanced and I always have fun games on this one. When they added the Frontlines gamemode to Amiens it became an instant favourite with me. It reminded me of the scene at the end of Saving Private Ryan (one of my favourite movies of all time) when they have the Battle of Ramelle. It’s the best Russian map and tons of fun to play on Conquest.Īmiens on Conquest was the first game of Battlefield (and a FPS) in my life. Plus, the map design is beautiful with the white snow and dark brown dirt (it reminds me of chocolate every time I see it, I don’t know why). The map is very big (it has seven flags!) but the flags are a nice length apart.

Out of the whole Russian DLC, this is my favourite map to play on Conquest (and Operations). Still an amazing map and highly underrated.

Meaning I am forced to play that crime against humanity, Suez. Unfortunately Prise De Tahure is continually outvoted in normal servers. Generally, I’ve played great games on this map (I’ve been spawn trapped a few times but that was because our team had fewer people). The night atheistic makes it 10x better because you can lurk in the shadows. After 10 games I had a new respect for the map. I never played it that much but when it was released for the whole community there was a 24 hour only Prise De Tahure server that I played on. Two of my favourite things mashed together. Prise De Tahure is a like night Amiens with trenches. Since all of the maps have been released, I’m going to rank them (on Conquest and Conquest Assault) for the last time. To think that I only got to play French Frontlines a handful of times. People will be leaving soon and moving on. DICE is moving on to work on Battlefield 2018 and after the Apocalypse disappointment, Battlefield 1 just fizzled out. That’s from the song “The End” by The Doors but it applies to Battlefield 1 now.
